Private military history book collection sale to support Niagara County Historical Society

The military book collection of David Caldwell is being sold to benefit educational programming at the Niagara County Historical Society, where Caldwell served as president of the board for many years. This is a collection of more than 500 books. Hardcovers will be $5, with paperbacks selling for $2.

These are books with an emphasis on New York state and Niagara Frontier military history. They also include historical biographies, along with American and British military themes. There will be a $5 admission charge for the sale running from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5; and a $3 admission for the sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The event is being held at the 4H Training Center at the Fairgrounds on Lake Avenue in Lockport. Bring your own bag. Masks are optional. Event organizers said, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all history lovers.”
