Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) announced the appointment of Marianne Hoover as the new executive director. An experienced leader, Hoover will succeed Sally Vincent who, after more than 23 years of serving the charity, is looking forward to a well-deserved retirement in December.

A press release noted, “Following a long and extensive search, Hoover was selected based on her experience in the nonprofit and medical sectors, her proven leadership, and her commitment and contributions to the charity in her previous role as hospital programs manager where she launched the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Happy Wheels Cart programs.”

RMHC of WNY Board of Directors President and Chair Janice Larson said, “Her passion for the mission and ability to instill that in others, and her leadership and vision for the future, truly embody RMHC of WNY’s core values of respect, caring and compassion. We cannot think of a better individual to lead the charity forward, and we have every confidence that she will have a lasting and substantial impact.”

Hoover will work closely with Vincent, the staff, and the board of directors as she begins her new role. Hoover will officially assume her role on Oct. 1 and will lead the charity in its mission to create and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families.

“My desire to help others has been the driving force behind my career and the force I try to live my life by,” Hoover said. “I joined the RMHC of WNY team in June 2017, tasked with the job of bringing the hospital program’s dream to fruition. I know that every day we make an impact on someone’s life, by just being there, listening and understanding. I am honored and feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity to lead RMHC of WNY and to do so with a team that has consistently demonstrated a deep passion for and commitment to both the mission and families of RMHC of WNY.”
