The Rotary Club of Buffalo has extended its grant request deadline to Sept. 22. The Buffalo Rotary Foundation funds projects to nonprofit organizations operating within the City of Buffalo primarily serving youth and families. The foundation awards grants that will provide for acquisition of necessary equipment and facilities; do not exceed $10,000; and will have a positive impact on the community for more than one year.
The club’s most recent grants included $6,269 to Harvest House for classroom flooring; $5,680 to the Olmstead Center for Sight for specialized sewing machines; $5,000 toward funding the purchase of a van for Buffalo PAL; and $3,000 to Grassroots Gardens of WNY for garden equipment.
Final disposition is made Dec. 30. The next grant cycle application deadline is Jan. 15, 2022, with final disposition made June 30. Application guidelines can be found at www.buffalonyrotary.org.
The Rotary Club of Buffalo is made up of neighbors, community and business leaders committed to making Western New York a better place to live. The club gives up to $40,000 annually and, since 1989, has awarded grants totaling more than $2 million to Buffalo Niagara nonprofit organizations.
