Team RPCS – Roswell Park Cessation Services – organizes outdoor event at Flying Bison Brewing as well as online Buffalo Bills memorabilia auction to raise funds for event

After a record year of nearly $14,000 raised for the Ride for Roswell, Team RPCS – Roswell Park Cessation Services – is back again with a basket raffle event and online Buffalo Bills memorabilia auction to make 2021 another banner year.

Team RPCS invites the public – especially those seeking an activity just before the Toronto Blue Jays game – to attend its “Basket Raffle Extravaganza” on Saturday, July 17, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Flying Bison Brewing Co., located at 840 Seneca St., Buffalo. In addition to more than 50 raffle baskets under an outdoor tent near the entrance, Team RPCS will provide 50/50 drawings, gift card drawings and lottery boards. Basket themes include kitchen, candles, jewelry, holiday, toys, home goods and much more. Flying Bison will generously provide $1 off pints during the duration of the event. Winners do not need to be present to win.

From Wednesday, July 14, through Friday, July 30, Team RPCS will run a special Buffalo Bills memorabilia online auction through its fundraising page at https://tinyurl.com/RPCS2021. Every page visitor who donates $20 to any Team RPCS rider and adds “GO BILLS” in the donation message will receive an entry to win one of 10 autographed merchandise items, including jerseys, pictures, trading cards and more. Two marquee items include an autographed 16-by-20 picture of head coach Sean McDermott and an autographed Steve Tasker jersey. The drawings will take place live via Zoom on Friday, July 30.

This fundraising year holds extra meaning for Team RPCS. One of its members, Mary Hayward – dubbed one of the "Bills Mafia Sisters" by Pro Bowl linebacker Lorenzo Alexander – passed away this May after a brave fight against ovarian cancer. Local team riders plan to traverse Buffalo’s Outer Harbor on Aug. 7 while Alexander will ride remotely from the Phoenix area. Last year, he rode 57 miles to match his No. 57 jersey.
