After a year without festivals, most concerts and large-scale events in general, the Lewiston Garden Club was the brave organization willing to take the first crack at staging a mass gathering in what we all hope is a post-coronavirus world. GardenFest returned to Center Street over the weekend, and drew attendees looking to bolster their gardens, plant flowers and admire the green thumb of residents who volunteered to show off their prized lawn configurations.

GardenFest featured more than 70 vendors selling flowers, plants and handcrafted art and garden essentials. Additional highlights included a garden walk and the popular container garden contest, shown above.

The Lewiston festival had large crowds both days with plenty of vendors, advice, food and sunshine. (Photo cluster by Wayne Peters)

Proceeds from Lewiston GardenFest go back into the soil of the local community for civic beautification efforts and scholarships.
