The Niagara County Department of Employment and Training will hold an outdoor career fair on Wednesday, June 9, at Oppenheim Park for those seeking employment. More than 35 companies with open positions have signed up to take part.

“Every day there is another story about an employer looking to fill open positions and how they cannot find workers,” said Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch, chairman of the community service committee and a small business owner whose company will be participating in the event. “With nearly three-dozen companies participating in the job fair, there has never been a better time to find a job, whether you are currently unemployed or looking for a change.”

Director of Employment and Training Donald Jablonski said the event would be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Oppenheim Park, located at 2713 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield. Businesses will use the picnic shelters to display information on their company and meet with job seekers. No appointment is necessary.

“We are getting calls from employers every day looking for people and probably could have had another 10 companies participating in the job fair if we had room,” Jablonski said. “Our WorkSource1 team will also be present to let job seekers know of the services we have available to them, like resume writing and interview prep, as they conduct their job search.”
