Roxanna Marie Russell (Angelo), aka “Ricky,” “Rox” and “Roxy,” born Jan. 18, 1936, in Waverly, New York, entered into eternal life on May 18, 2021.
The faithful and devoted wife of David W. Russell, she is the loving and selfless mother of Rosanna M. Russell (together in heaven), Theresa G. Giambra and David R. Russell (Kellie). She is the doting and adoring grandmother of Anthony, Rosalie, Michael, Grace, Joseph, Max and Tyler; and great grandmother to Luciana Marie.
Her home was Grand Island, where she raised her family. Roxanna was an extended mother to Duane Dunn; foster mother to nine children; a religious education teacher at St. Stephen’s R.C. parish; and proud school bus driver for the Grand Island Central School District until her retirement. She opened her home to anyone hungry, homeless, in need of family or friend.
A Mass to celebrate her precious time here will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church on Grand Island.
