Cardinal O'Hara High School in the Town of Tonawanda decided to show its appreciation of its teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week with thank you sign put up at the entry to the school on Monday. The tribute was put up to show teachers how much they mean to the students and to honor all the hard work they accomplished in the pandemic.
“You have maintained your sanity in these high-stress times, and done your very best to serve our students in the best ways you know how,” Assistant Principal Jill Monaco said. “I appreciate each of you for your uniqueness, and for every way you bring creativity to the table of education.”
Principal Mary Holzerland added, “The learning curve required of all of our teachers and staff has been enormous, and you should be proud of all that you have accomplished. The teachers and staff at COHS have made it possible for our students to maintain some type of normalcy in an incredibly abnormal world.”
Classes were in session every day with a few students choosing to be remote.
In addition, the Home School Association is providing a gift to the teachers each day during Teacher Appreciation Week.
