The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported a homicide on Saturday morning.
At approximately 7:47 a.m., the NCSO received a third-party call reporting an alleged father and son domestic incident on Hill Road in the Town of Wheatfield. The caller reported that he believed the son killed the father.
Upon the arrival of patrol, Bryan W. Cummings, 42, of Wheatfield, was standing outside the residence and was detained by patrol without incident. Upon patrol entering the residence, a male was found unresponsive on the floor with multiple lacerations. Patrol and EMS agencies performed lifesaving measures, but the male was pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as Ward A. Cummings, 61, of Wheatfield.
Bryan W. Cummings is charged with murder in the second degree, a class A-I felony; and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony. The male is being held pending arraignment. He is innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
