After more than a decade of entertaining (terrifying?) neighbors in Niagara Falls, Michael Nickles has brought his one-of-a-kind army of the undead to the corner of North Seventh and Onondaga streets.

“I've done this for about 11 years. This is my first year in Lewiston,” he said. “I'm a Halloween fanatic – as you can see.”

An impressive array of monsters, clowns and creatures lines his front lawn – and “We're still not done. We still have a lot more to do,” Nickles said.

“We're doing dry runs on them to make sure they all work. Stay working continuously. And, you know, give everybody a site – something to see, even if there is no trick-or-treating; at least they can see the display.”

The creepy collection has already drawn notice.

“We've had tons of people taking photos, videos; we're seeing it on Facebook more and more; friends, other people from Lewiston area,” Nickles said. “It’s an excellent hobby I have of mine.”

He explained, “These are all from Spirit Halloween. I've been collecting now for, like I said, around 11 years now. A couple of things are from Home Depot. And then we use our own imagination, with the ‘electrifying guy.’ We just take conduit and stick it in there with fiber optic lights to make it look like he's being electrocuted. Same thing with the carousel. We've done some modifications to the carousel to make it our own.

“We tend to buy more and more every year – about maybe four to five props each year.”

Onlookers are welcome to take pictures, so long as they don’t handle the figures.

“I’d just like them to enjoy it, interact with them; we just ask that we don't have people touch the props. And that's why I did put up the (video recording) sign; it's just so they don't touch it – so they don't get hurt. Or none of them become damaged,” Nickles said. “But, you know, everybody that walks by enjoys it, takes pictures with them. We don't mind if they take pictures with them, or anything like that; we just ask that they don't fold their arms.”
