Erie County Department of Health announces locations for 2 free rabies vaccination clinics

Registration required for pet owners at ECC South (Sept. 19) and ECC North (Sept. 29)

The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) has opened registration for its free rabies vaccination clinics, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, and Tuesday, Sept. 29.

•Saturday, Sept. 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Erie Community College South Campus, 4041 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park

•Tuesday, Sept. 29, 3-7 p.m., Erie Community College North Campus, 6205 Main St., Williamsville (off Youngs Road or Tech Drive)

Online registration is available at http://www.erie.gov/health/rabies. Individuals who are unable to access this form may call 716-961-6800 during business hours to schedule an appointment.

Pet owners must make an appointment in order to attend these clinics. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Dogs, cats and ferrets 3 months of age and older are eligible for a vaccination. Up to three pets will be accepted per appointment. Pet owners are asked to bring proof of vaccination with them to the event in order to receive a three-year vaccination certificate; otherwise, a one-year certificate will be given.

Staff are asking pet owners to limit the number of people in the vehicle. Face masks or cloth face coverings will be required at all times, and physical distancing will be strictly enforced by clinic staff.
