From City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino’s office:
At approximately 10:23 p.m. Wednesday, Niagara Falls police officers responded to an accident heading westbound involving a vehicle and bicycle collision at the intersection of 28th and Pine Avenue.
An 18-year-old Niagara Falls woman driving a 2012 Chevrolet struck a bicyclist who was coming out of the 7-Eleven parking lot to cross the street. The bicyclist was taken to ECMC as a “John Doe” with serious leg and head injuries. “John Doe” is currently being treated in the trauma ICU. Further investigation to continue.
UPDATE: The bicyclist was identified as 58-year-old Edward Cusatis. He remains in ECMC with multiple broken bones and lacerations.
