Coronavirus stats for May 28

Niagara County

Niagara County’s Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County: “We regretfully report the death of two Niagara County residents due to COVID-19. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of these individuals.”

The deceased include:

  • An 87-year-old female with underlying health conditions
  • A 67-year-old male with underlying health conditions

Erie County

As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Erie County had a total of 5,830 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 65 on Grand Island and 2,498 in the City of Buffalo. To date, 47,870 people have been tested (12.1% positive), with 512 deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Also, 41,362 people have taken an antibody test (7.6% positive).
