From Mount St. Mary’s:

"Community" spreads pretty far when you're from Western New York. Many of us have stories about traveling to other parts of the country, or even the world, and meeting someone from WNY. That is also the case with a special donation that was delivered this week to the health care workers at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.

After seeing a post on Facebook about a donation to Mount St. Mary’s from Brickyard Pub & BBQ, Californian Rosemary Miklitsch reached out to the Lewiston restaurant to match the previous donation of 250 meals. As it turns out, Rosemary grew up in Lewiston, and her grandfather, Dr. George Berry, was a doctor at MSM many years ago. Rosemary’s parents also received care at Mount St. Mary’s.

“I will be forever grateful for the care they received,” she said.

Though Rosemary now lives in California, she still has family she visits in Lewiston and keeps the area close to her heart. She saw this as an opportunity to feed frontline workers while also helping a local business: “I feel a strong need to give back to the community that helped raise me.”

On April 21, Mount St. Mary’s health care workers enjoyed a delicious meal, courtesy of Rosemary, who made this incredible donation in memory of her grandfather with an appreciative heart for Mount St. Mary’s and the Niagara County community.
