2 arrested following Mount Hope Road shooting

Acting Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti and Lewiston Police Department Chief Frank Previte on Tuesday announced two individuals were arrested and charged in the shooting incident that took place Sunday on Mount Hope Road.

Matthew M. Dubuc, 24, of Lewiston, and Michael S. Printup, 18, of Niagara Falls were both charged with burglary in the first degree, a B felony; and assault in the first degree, a B felony.

Dubuc was arraigned and bail set at $100,000/$200,000, and was remanded to Niagara County Jail. Printup was arraigned and bail set at $10,000/$20,000.

Both Dubuc and Printup are innocent unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement reports revealed that, at 4:48 a.m. Sunday morning, the NCSO dispatch received a call of shots fired at a residence in the Chew Road/Mount Hope Road area in the Town of Lewiston. Police said two people were injured, one fatally.

A joint investigation is continuing with both police departments.
