Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R-C-I-Ref-Niagara Falls) today announced he’ll run for reelection to the New York State Assembly in 2020.

A press release explained, “As a lifelong resident of Western New York and retired judge, Morinello has brought his past experiences to Albany and remains a leading advocate for bipartisanship. He strongly supports workforce development programs and advocated for the implementation of workforce training back into high schools, as well as trade skills to help students find successful career paths whether they choose to attend college or not. As a Vietnam combat soldier, Morinello has been a fervent advocate of new and improved veterans’ programs to help them and their families.”

Morinello was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2016 and is seeking his third term in the Legislature.

“As your representative, I’ve worked each day to improve life for families across Western New York, and would be honored to continue serving our great community for another term,” Morinello said. “This past year, I worked with our conference to secure much-needed funding for the Discover Niagara Shuttle to make the entire City of Niagara Falls more accessible. We made great leaps for our military personnel by passing the Gold Star Family Bill, which provides free college to family members of all fallen military members who died while performing their duties. I was also pleased to support a permanent 2% cap on property taxes.”

He added, “With your support, we have the opportunity to continue moving our state in the right direction by cutting taxes, rebuilding our infrastructure, improving vocational training programs and passing legislation to prevent drug and opioid abuse. I’d like to thank everyone for their friendship and support, and look forward to continuing to serve the 145th Assembly District here in Western New York.”

Morinello represents the 145th Assembly District, which consists of parts of Erie and Niagara counties. For more information, visit his official website.
