Niagara University Camp Courage Crew officers presented Lisa Booz, WNY regional director at Camp Good Days and Special Times, with a check for $10,700 on Thursday. Students raised the funds during their second annual dance marathon in October.
Camp Courage Crew was established in 2018 to raise funds and awareness for Camp Good Days and Special Times, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for those whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges. The marathon is its primary fundraiser.
This year, more than 20 student clubs supported the event by hosting donation stations during the marathon, where they raised additional funds through smaller activities. Over 300 students, faculty, campers and their families, and members of the community attended the dance.
In its inaugural year, the event raised nearly $7,000 for Camp Good Days.
