If you are seeking a retreat for male adults only, reflecting on what it means to be a just man, and knowing fully well that we are only (just) huMAN, Stella Niagara has a weekend retreat for you this November.
The Center of Renewal at Stella Niagara invites all adult men to its “JUST MEN” retreat weekend on Nov. 22-24, to be led by the Rev. John L. Graden, OSFS, director of Embraced by God (based on the Stella Niagara campus).
A press release noted this event is designed to be “A relaxing time for men to be together. This retreat features time away from all the busyness of our lives. No drinking or TV, but there will be prayer and reflections and sharing on the challenges of being a man of faith in today’s time and culture.”
Graden will present a few conferences during the weekend, and will take anonymous input from the group as to how much time to spend on things such as faith, prayer, church, patience, anger, courage, forgiveness, appropriate sexual development and marital sex, marriage and children.
The retreat begins with Friday evening dinner and ends after lunch on Sunday. Men may check-in any time after 1 p.m. Friday to enjoy the retreat center facility and tranquil, scenic grounds. The weekend retreat will conclude with a closing weekend Mass, and will include other times for contemplative prayer and silence.
Pre-registrations for the “JUST MEN” retreat weekend are due by Friday, Nov. 8. Call 716-754-7376, ext. 2 (call for a registration flier or to pre-register via phone). After Nov. 8, call to see if space is still available. More information on the retreat center is available by viewing the website at www.stellaniagararetreats.org.
