Recently, the Wheatfield Lions Club hosted a picnic for the blind at the Five Senses Park on Ward Road. The picnic brought visually impaired from across Niagara County for a day of fun.
Lions Clubs from Wheatfield, Niagara Falls, the Town of Niagara, Pendleton and North Tonawanda came together to serve the event and make it a success.
Events included hayrides and braille bingo, and a chicken and corn on the cob dinner. In addition, the Lions included planters filled with herbs and spices to provide a touch, taste and smell experience.
Lion Walt Garrow said more than 100 attendees spent the day at the event.
