Weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, is a medically based treatment option for many patients to help them lose weight and lower their risk of medical problems associated with obesity. For those interested in learning more about the different types of bariatric surgery and whether one may be right, Trinity Bariatric Surgery will hold a free seminar at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in Room 249 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston.
During the evening program, laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery specialists Dr. Bala Thatigotla, Dr. John Rutkoski and Dr. Vikram Vattipally – who is currently seeing patients in his Lewiston office at 5320 Military Road, Suite 106 – will present an overview of the different types of bariatric surgery, and then answer questions.
In addition to information about bariatric surgery, attendees will learn about a comprehensive medical-based weight loss program that includes nutrition, exercise and individual counseling.
The program is free and open to all. Reservations are required. For more information or to make reservations, call 716-893-0333 or visit www.TrinityMedicalWNY.org/bariatrics.
