From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, Precious Plate and Precision Process (of Liberty Drive) will host a superhero family picnic. The proceeds from the event at Gratwick Hose Fire Co. No. 6, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda, will benefit WNY Heroes.
According to the WNY Heroes website, “Since its inception in 2007, WNY Heroes Inc. has grown exponentially, becoming a critical life-sustaining vehicle for veterans and their families by providing immediate financial assistance to those in need.”
Additionally, WNY Heroes provides vets, members of the armed services and the widows and children of deceased veterans with access to essential services, financial assistance and resources to support their lives.
Last year, the event raised over $4,500 for WNY Heroes.
This year’s event includes a free ice cream truck, bounce house, basket raffle, superhero caricatures, face painting, a Velcro wall, an inflatable maze, appetizer and cookie contests, a corn hole tournament, kids games, music by DJ Jickster, big ticket items, three door prizes, horseshoes and a 50/50 raffle.
Attendees are encouraged to wear superhero attire, but it is not required.
The event is still looking for donations of either baskets or gift cards to include in the basket auction and raffle. To donate, email [email protected], or call 716-283-0690 or 716-286-0690.
