Niagara County Legislator Tony Nemi met with Pendleton officials Saturday to announce the completion of several restoration projects at West Canal Park and Marina.
Restoration efforts for the marina and park are part of a multiyear investment in all Niagara County parks, upgrading bathroom facilities, enlarging pavilions, and constructing a new kayak launch.
The park and marina have seen a considerable increase in usage. To meet the requests of residents, new amenities have been implemented. Improvements to the marina consist of reconstruction of the shoreline breakwall, shoreline walkway, as well as the installation of water and electrical sources for boaters.
Nemi, who represents Pendleton, has been a strong proponent of similar projects.
“The Town of Pendleton is one of the fastest-growing towns in the county, and we are actively improving the public parks to meet new sports and leisure lifestyles for our residents,” he said.
Councilman Dave Leible, who worked with Nemi on the restoration effort, said, “These improvements add to the appeal of living in Pendleton, and the town is currently reviewing an overall master parkland plan to ensure that efforts continue throughout the area.”
