As alcohol, drugs and prescription medications continue to impact safety on roads, nationally renowned speakers and community leaders will gather to discuss challenges and solutions.

AAA will host an impaired driving summit from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (8:30 a.m. registration). Friday, June 7, at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Buffalo. The summit will offer perspectives on the dangers of impaired driving from nationally renowned speakers from the NTSB and AAA about impairment on roads, while local and regional leaders will share their vision for realistically improving traffic safety across New York.

The purpose of the summit is to study the issue of impaired driving and develop an action plan specific to New York with the goal of increasing education, enforcement resources such as drug recognition experts (DREs), and ultimately decreasing impaired driving fatalities.

As upstate New York’s largest member services organization, AAA Western and Central New York provides more than 880,000 members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, AAA has been a leading advocate for the safety and security of all travelers. Visit AAA at www.AAA.com.
