Tickets purchased to benefit Veterans Post Restoration of Erie County
Erie County Clerk Michael Kearns, Duff’s Famous Wings of Orchard Park and Buffalo Bisons are teaming up to host “Thank A Vet Day at the Ballpark” on Saturday. This day of community and celebration was coordinated by Kearns as an extension of the Erie County Clerk’s “Thank A Vet” discount program in an effort to honor veterans.
Thanks to the generosity of the Buffalo Bisons and Phil Kinecki, owner of Duff’s Famous Wings of Orchard Park, 1,000 veterans, who were enrolled in “Thank A Vet” were offered a free ticket voucher to the game.
“Duff’s Famous Wings of Orchard Park was happy to purchase tickets to thank our veterans for their service. I think it’s important that local businesses support our veterans,” Kinecki said.
“Our veterans seldom receive the amount of thanks and recognition they deserve. As a community, I am glad we were able to join together and honor veterans,” Kearns said.
The Buffalo Bisons, a proud “Thank A Vet” business, volunteered to offer a discounted rate of $14 per ticket to anyone that visited the “Thank A Vet” event page on the team website (bisons.com). Half of the proceeds of each ticket was donated to the Veterans Post Restoration of Erie County. That organization is dedicated to restoring and improving veterans posts throughout Erie County.
