Memorial Medical Center announces bariatrics program expansion

Dang Tuan Pham, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S., has joined Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s medical team of providers in the minimally invasive medical weight loss, metabolic and bariatric surgery program. He is a veteran practitioner in metabolic and bariatric surgery.

The announcement was made by Memorial Medical Center President and CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo.

Pham has more than 25 years of experience in the bariatrics arena, with the last 10 years in Western New York – including four as medical director of the former Niagara Metabolic & Bariatric Services at Memorial, and appointments within the Catholic Health System.

Pham obtained his Doctor of Medicine from University of Paris VI, Pierre et Marie Curie, Broussais-Hotel Dieu Faculty of Medicine, Paris. His areas of special clinical interest include procedures in bariatrics, endoscopy foregut, single incision laparoscopic, minimally invasive, and robotic assisted and trauma surgery.

He joins Memorial’s current team of metabolic, bariatric and medical weight loss physicians including Michael Mitchell, M.D., who also serves as medical director of the Wound Center of Niagara; Chief of Surgery Venkat Kolli, M.D., bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon; Gurteshwar Rana, M.D.; and Donna Gasparro, M.D., who manages Memorial’s medical weight loss program.
