The Grand Island Rotary Gazebo, off limits for months because of structural problems, will be torn down.
The Grand Island Town Board voted to 5-0 to authorize the town engineer to sign an agreement for design/construction specifications with an architectural firm and authorized demolition of the current gazebo by Pinto Construction and Pariso Logistics.
The board also referred to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board a recommendation for a request for proposal for design services of a pavilion or similar structure for the Town Commons.
