The Town of Niagara announced its summer “Music Mania Mondays” concert series schedule on Wednesday. The series runs each Monday night throughout the summer from June 10 through Aug. 19.
Backed by over 40 corporate sponsors, the Town of Niagara will present classic rock tribute bands from locations throughout the U.S., as well as internationally.
The town has, once again, partnered with “97 Rock” radio. All of the concert events are free to the general public due to the vast array of corporate sponsors, including Republic Services, Niagara’s Choice Federal Credit Union, Tim Hortons CRB Holdings and Rich Entertainment.
The schedule for 2019 is as follows:
June 10 – Beatlemania Now: A Beatles tribute band, this show features Beatles music from their first U.S. album, “Meet the Beatles,” to their last album, “Let It Be,” complete with costume changes including the “Sgt. Pepper” era.
June 17 – The History of Rock: A Broadway-type show with a full cast and costume changes, which tells the story of the progression of rock and roll music from its early days in the 1950s through the 1980s.
June 24 – Head Games: A Foreigner tribute band.
July 1 – Turnstiles: A Billy Joel tribute from south Florida.
Saturday, July 6 – Pride in the Park: The town’s Independence Day celebration features four tribute bands from 2-10 p.m. It concludes with the annual Independence Day fireworks.
The lineup for Pride in the Park is as follows:
•2 p.m. – Desire: A U2 tribute.
•4 p.m. – Rumourz: A Fleetwood Mac tribute.
•6 p.m. – Chicago Authority: A Chicago tribute (back by popular demand).
•8 p.m. – Elton Rohn: An Elton John tribute.
July 15 – Petty Hearts: A Tom Petty tribute from Fort Lauderdale.
July 22 – The U.S. Stones: A Rolling Stones tribute from south Florida.
July 29 – Nerds Gone Wild.
Aug. 5 – Good Vibrations: A Beach Boys tribute, direct from Las Vegas.
Aug. 12 – The Heart of Rock and Roll: A Huey Lewis and the News tribute from California.
Aug. 19 – The BBC Band.
Each Monday night concert begins at 6:30 p.m. with a local Western New York band as an opening act. The headliner takes the stage at 8 p.m.
There will also be a wide variety of food vendors at each show.
