My name is Leah Plennert and I have autism. I’m a sophomore at Lewiston-Porter High School. With my busy academic schedule, there is no time for social skills.

I am very fortunate my family can send me to The Summit Center’s Building Connections summer program. It is a social skills program. I have attended this wonderful program for six years. It has taught me things such as facial expressions, clarifying directions, even job interviews.

On Saturday, April 27, my family and I are holding a basket auction at the Lewiston Fire Co. No. 2 firehall, 1705 Saunders Settlement Road. Admission is $20 for adults and includes dinner and sheet of auction tickets. Children ages 6-10 are $10; those age 5 and younger are free. The event also includes 50/50s and a Disney raffle.

All proceeds will go to a scholarship for a Building Connections program. Please help me give other children this great opportunity. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.

Donations can be mailed to Leah Plennert, 4627 Porter Center Road, Lewiston, NY 14092. For pickups, please call Denise at 716-830-8924.

Thank you in advance.
