Condoleezza Rice, the 66th secretary of state under former President George W. Bush, will speak at the University at Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Alumni Arena, North Campus, to close out the 2018-19 UB Distinguished Speakers Series.

The first African-American woman – and just the second woman – to hold the post of secretary of state, she previously served for four years as Bush’s national security adviser.

Rice is currently a professor of political science at Stanford University, where she served as the university’s provost from 1993-99. She is a member of the boards of Dropbox, C3 and Makena Capital, and is a founding partner at RiceHadleyGates LLC, an international strategic consulting firm.

Rice is the UB undergraduate Student Choice Speaker.
