Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, a local rescue that has been saving the lives of unwanted, abandoned and homeless animals since 2012, will team up with a local school for its annual fundraiser.

The seventh annual Heart to Heart “A Taste of the Niagara Region” will take place from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Cambria Wilson Volunteer Firehall in Lockport. It will feature approximately 25 local restaurants providing a sample of their signature dishes. Music and a large basket auction also will be offered. Tickets are on sale at www.heartofniagara.org ($25 per person), with all proceeds going directly to animal care.

The directors of the rescue, Kathy Nowakowski, Margie Kwiatkowski and Heather Nowakowski, along with volunteers, work tirelessly to provide food and veterinarian care while seeking forever homes for these animals.

“A Taste of the Niagara Region” will benefit from the help of Lewiston-Porter High School community groups such as Key Club and National Honor Society.
