Vet tech students offer free weekend dog wash April 6; campus fair, open house round out day's offerings

If your four-legged friend needs a little springtime sprucing up, next weekend Medaille College's veterinary technology students have got a great deal for you!

The vet tech club at the private, 2,200-student college is offering up free dog baths from noon to 3 p.m. on April 6. Dog owners should note Medaille is located adjacent to Buffalo’s Delaware Park, with its 1.8-mile dog-friendly trail loop, and less than 10 minutes by car from the off-leash “Barkyard” at LaSalle Park, which means people can plan quite a day on the town with Fido.

In addition to lathering up pups, Medaille College is also holding its spring open house the same day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Admissions representatives and faculty will be on-hand to talk about veterinary technology and all the other two- and four-year degree programs at Medaille.

The spring open house also features a campus fair with representatives of clubs and sports teams, and campus tours, including a chance to see Medaille's residence halls.

The vet tech club free dog wash will be held at Medaille’s main building, located at 18 Agassiz Circle. Participants are required to bring proof of up-to-date rabies vaccinations.

In addition to the free dog baths, the vet tech club will offer $5 nail trims and $5 photos with the Easter Bunny. The event is open to the public.

Additional information on the free dog wash is available by email at [email protected].
