The classic radio drama "The War of the Worlds," based on the classic H. G. Wells novel, will be presented at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda, at 7 p.m. March 21, 8 p.m. March 22-23, and 2 p.m. March 24. Tickets, priced at $15, are available online at www.starrynighttheatre.com.

"The War of the Worlds," adapted for radio by Howard E. Koch in 1938, is directed by L. Don Swartz and features Greg Blarr, Trey Wydysh, Jesse Swartz, Chris Fire and Mark Woomer.

The original broadcast of "the War of The Worlds," presented by the Mercury Theatre on Oct. 30, 1938, featured Orson Welles. The broadcast panicked America as listeners thought the Martian invasion was real.

The Ghostlight production, set in a recreation of the Mercury Theatre radio sound studio, will present the broadcast just as it was heard in 1938. The audience is invited to a reception after the show with cast and crew. For more information, call 716-743-1614.
