Visit the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University by March 17 to participate in The Higner Maritime Collection exhibit, featuring the model ships of Wheatfield artist “Commodore” Justin J.M. Higner. Check in at the front desk to find out how to store notes, tiny trinkets or other small objects in the Oxfordshire IV, a 14-foot bulk cargo container ship made out of recycled and found materials.

Add your own items to the shipping containers on its deck to become a part of the fictional world Higner has created, complete with shipyards, ship histories and shipping lines covering the 100-plus ships in the collection.

Stop in before the exhibit closes to explore the different objects loaded into the Oxfordshire IV before she leaves the museum exhibit.

The Castellani Art Museum is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, contact Edward Millar, curator of folk arts, at 716-286-8290.
