Memorial Medical Center celebrates Black History Month

The Niagara Falls Chapter of the Links Inc. was honored Friday for nearly 70 years of service to Niagara County at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s 12th annual Black History Month Celebration.

A volunteer service organization of concerned, committed and talented women of color, the Niagara Falls Chapter of the Links was chartered in 1950 and remains an active and vibrant organization with “service through friendship” as its priority.

The keynote address was delivered by the Rev. Raymond Allen, pastor of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and president of the Niagara Ministerial Council. The free community event, which was organized and presented by Memorial Medical Center staff members, included a health fair and luncheon program based on the theme “Hope and Health: Without Hope We Fail to Exist.”
