Lewiston-Porter High School announces this year’s musical, “The Addams Family,” will open at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in the high school auditorium.

In the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams. Nonetheless, this quirky family still has to deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family.

The Addams kids are growing up. Their dark, macabre, beloved daughter, Wednesday, is now an 18-year-old young woman who is ready for a life of her own. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family – the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! And to make matters worse, she has invited the Beinekes to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

Join the students of Lewiston-Porter High School as they present this family-friendly musical under the direction of Amanda Sharpe, James Burritt and Kevin Duncan, with choreography by Adrienne Ricchiazzi. The cast features Trey Caso and Olivia Ponticelli as Gomez and Morticia; and Erika Vincent and Beth Teal as Wednesday and Pugsley. Aiden Mazierski is Wednesday’s beau, Lucas, while Lauren Eger and Nathan Fournier as his parents.

Performances continue at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, with a special matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $6 for students and children under 18. Doors open a half hour before the show and seating is general admission.

To order tickets in advance, call the main office at 716-286-7263.
