The Niagara Falls Community Development Department is releasing a request for proposals (RFQ) for the creation and operation of a community center in the city’s north-end neighborhood. Project funding is available from a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant. Responses are due by noon on Feb. 28 via email to [email protected].

The creation of a north-end community center has been long discussed, with the public voting for this project during the NFCD participatory budgeting process (PB360) in 2018. PB360 is a democratic decision-making process of direct citizen engagement to manage public money, built through neighborhood meetings and voting.

“We are excited to move the community center project forward, led by public participation and continuing our commitment to family friendly activities,” said Seth Piccirillo, director of Niagara Falls Community Development.
