Above and Beyond: Osinski chosen 2019 Grand Island fire chief

Grand Island firefighters chose 2019 firematic and administrative officers during annual elections held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at fire headquarters.
Matt Osinski ran unopposed for fire chief, having had previous experience in that position. He will be joined by Deputy Fire Chief Mark Sadkowski, First Assistant Chief Omar Sortino, Second Assistant Chief Dan Mathes, fire captains John Podlucky, Jourdain Benoit and Pat Hahn, Fire Police Capt. Don Portik, and EMS Capt. Scott McCormick.
Joanne Ciffa was elected president and Tammy Gorman as vice president of the company.
The positions of treasurer, financial secretary, and sergeant-at-arms will be filled by appointment at a later date.
Graciana Giambra is the new recording secretary and Michele Jones retains her job as line secretary.
Pete Sukmanowski, Kevin Koch, and Dave Khreis were returned to the board of directors for three-year terms.
Joe Savage was newly elected to the Review Board, while Dave Cole and Bill Wilson were returned to the Benevolent Association as trustees.
