The Niagara Gymnastics level 10 team opened their 2018-19 competitive season on Friday, Nov. 16, at The Judges Cup hosted by Victors Gymnastics in Rochester.
Kendall Sobczyk, a freshman at Niagara-Wheatfield High School, finished in fourth place all around with a score of 34.75.  In the individual events, Kendall placed second on vault with 9.175, second on bars with an 8.325, fourth on beam with an 8.45 and fourth on floor with an 8.8.  Kendall also received the "WOW" award from the judges for impressive amplitude on her back-handspring back-tuck flight series on the beam.
AnnaLisa Page, a freshman at Starpoint High School, was limited to competing bars and beam in her first meet of the season.  AnnaLisa placed third on bars with an 8.10 and sixth on beam with a 7.8.  Earlier this year in May, AnnaLisa took home fourth place all around in the JR5 age group at the Level 9 Eastern National Championships.  Competing at the Eastern Nationals requires advancement through state and regional competitions, and involves the top gymnasts from the entire eastern half of the United States.
Logan Sobczyk, a junior at Niagara-Wheatfield High School, finished in fifth place with an overall score of 32.5.  Logan had a third place finish on vault with a score 9.05, and fifth place finishes on both beam and floor with equal scores of 8.15.
