"There are three values of a public relations professional that students must demonstrate as a recipient of the May C. Randazzo Memorial Scholarship Award - leadership, community service and scholastic achievement - and I can say, without a doubt, that Justin well exceeds those values," said Dr. Joseph M. Sirianni, associate professor of communication studies and co-adviser of the
Public Relations Student Society of Niagara.
A Tonawanda native, Crawford is a member of the Public Relations Student Society at Niagara University, a new student orientation leader, a retreat leader and a member of the Campus Ministry student advisory board. He also serves as promotions co-chair for the NU Campus advisory board. In the community, Crawford served as a hockey coach for the Clarence Mustangs, the Town of Tonawanda Recreation Department and St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, and is a volunteer with the Heart, Love & Soul Soup Kitchen in Niagara Falls, and Community Missions of the Niagara Frontier. He has made the dean's list for the past six semesters and currently holds a 4.0 GPA.
This marks the third straight year an NU student has been selected for the May C. Randazzo Memorial Scholarship. Jennifer Gallo, a 2017 NU alumna, and Britini D'Angelo, a senior communication studies and theater major, received the award in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
