Niagara Academy students project takes flight for a good cause

Industrial arts teacher John Vogt has been working with his careers course students at the Niagara Academy on a very worthwhile project.
"My students expressed a desire to create a product that could be used as fundraisers for a local organization," he explained. The students and Vogt decided that the selling of their item would go to the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York (BCNWNY).
The class made breast cancer awareness butterflies and sold them at their Orleans/Niagara BOCES School for $5 each. Their goal was to raise $250 for the organization. As of today they are at $205.
"When I talked to the representative at the organization they were very enthused about the project and thought it would be a good fit," said Vogt.  "My students are very excited to be helping out such a great cause, especially considering it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month."
