History Center offers Veterans Day programming

Looking for something to entertain your kids for the long weekend?
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, the Niagara History Center will hold a Veterans Day program for children ages 7 to 12 on the 100th anniversary of the World War I armistice.
Children can learn about the technical innovations developed during the war, slang words that were used, and the roles animals played in the war effort.
Scheduled activities include: Making a biplane to fly; examining a model trench to learn how they were used; playing a game of "No Man's Land"; and discovering WWI artifacts from the History Center's collection.
 The program fee is $10 per child, with a snack included. All activities will take place at the Niagara History Center, 215 Niagara St., Lockport. Reservations are required. Call the History Center at 716-434-7433 or email [email protected].
