Plans are underway for the inaugural Halloween "Trunk-or-Treat" from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in the communities of Grand Island, Lewiston and Niagara Falls, sponsored by New York State Assemblyman Angelo Morinello.
"We are thrilled to have over 35 organizations come forward to participate and provide this fun and safe alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating for families in our community" Morinello said. "Each location will offer music, provided by area DJs, candy and non-candy goodies for kids to pick up at the different vehicles, as well as the opportunity for participants to vote for the Best Decorated Trunk. The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center will be opening its doors for free that evening for residents to come in and see the museum and pick up a neighborhood card."
Participating locations include:
  • Grand Island Fire Co. at 2275 Baseline Road.
  • Lewiston Fire Co. No. 1 at 145 N. Sixth St.
