The following is a list of upcoming events at the North Tonawanda Public Library:
Discussion on Higner Maritime Collection
Join the North Tonawanda Library, 505 Meadow Drive, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10 for a talk on the Higner Maritime Collection. Currently on display at the Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University, this collection spans 25 years of ship building by Justin Higner, featuring cargo ships, cruise ships and tankers, to name a few. The event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
Flu shot clinic
From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, the library will host a flu vaccination clinic sponsored by the Rite Aide Pharmacy. Getting a flu shot can reduce flu illnesses, doctors' visits, missed work and school, as well as preventable flu related hospitalizations. Those attending must bring their insurance card. No appointment necessary.
Halloween craft day
Halloween craft day is right around the corner at the library. On Saturday, Oct. 20, families are invited to the children's room anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to make a variety of Halloween decorations and crafts. Children 5 and under may need a parent's help. No registration is required.  For additional information, call the library at 693-4132 ext. 5 or visit online at www.ntlibrary.org.
Microsoft Word & Excel skills combined
Looking for a job, but keep getting turned down because of lack of Microsoft Word and Excel skills? The library can assist. From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, the library will host a Jobs Combo workshop. Learn the basics of these two programs to gain experience and confidence in the skills. Registration is required. Call 693-4132 to register.
