100th birthday celebration in Wheatfield

Last Friday, seniors and community members joined Drifa Seiwell at the Wheatfield Community Center for a 100th birthday celebration. Seiwell was joined by her son, Roy, as well as senior director Arlene Mante and councilmen Larry Helwig and Gil Doucet.
Helwig and Doucet presented Seiwell with a proclamation from Wheatfield Supervisor Don MacSwan.
Seiwell migrated from Iceland in 1942 and settled in Wheatfield in 1957, where she raised four children.
Of being 100, Seiwell said she has no secrets, but she eats a lot of seafood.
