Tuesday night, the 2017-18 Niagara County Peach Queen Jamie Hagerty held a Paint Night fundraiser to raise money for the Hillside Family of Agencies.
The fundraiser took place at the Community Center in the Town of Niagara's Veterans Memorial Community Park. Attendees enjoyed a night of instructed painting, light dinner and a basket auction. They also left with their own custom-painted wine glass.
Painters paid $20 for the event and Hagerty said the fundraiser accumulated over $2,000. The $2,000 will go to Hillside, which "provides comprehensive health, education and human services for children and families whose challenges threaten their ability to realize their full potential."
On the event, Hagerty said, "Part of every Peach Queen's duty is to fundraise and raise awareness for a charity of their choice. I have always loved to volunteer and support charity, so I wanted to hold a fundraiser that people could enjoy for a good cause. I thought choosing a Paint Night would allow everyone to enjoy a fun night out while making a positive difference in children's lives."
Hagerty also thanked Michelle Hamilton, who instructed the Paint Night, and said Hamilton does private parties as well.
Hagerty said to be on the look for her next fundraiser, Aug. 20 at the "Music Mania Mondays" concert series at Veterans Memorial Community Park. Hagerty will host a basket auction during the Nerds Gone Wild show with all proceeds also heading to Hillside. She said that, at the end of her reign as Peach Queen, she will present Hillside one big check.
