Kiwanis Club of Lewiston President Marty Pauly announced Jillian Colucci was named chairwoman of the 2018 Niagara County Peach Festival. Colucci is the first woman to serve in the capacity as chair in the history of the festival, which is celebrating its 61st year Sept. 6-9 at Academy Park on Center Street in Lewiston.
Colucci is vice president/commercial bank manager for M&T Bank and has been a member of the Lewiston Kiwanis Club for three years.
"The Peach Festival has been such a wonderful part of the Niagara County community, and the Lewiston Kiwanis Club is happy to be bringing people together again for the 61st year," she said. "The Niagara County Peach Festival is run solely by volunteers, and all of the proceeds go back into our local community. This year, we are especially excited to begin the festival one day earlier on Thursday, Sept. 6, so that our visitors will have an additional day to enjoy all that the festival has to offer."
The Niagara County Peach Festival is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston and again this year will feature their famous peach shortcake made with locally grown peaches from Bittner Singer Orchards. The Niagara County Peach Festival will also feature 40 amusement rides, Buffalo sports mascot and superhero night, a peach recipe competition, 22 food vendors, the Peach Queen pageant, Peach Blossom and Peach Fuzz contests, a Saturday parade, cheerleading contest, 5K run and live entertainment.
The Peach Festival has raised over $1 million since 1958. For more information, visit lewistonpeachfestival.org.
