Collecting Legos for cancer

Sat, Jul 7th 2018 07:00 am
Emma Seaman, a 13-year-old from Youngstown, is currently collecting donations of new Lego sets for Sebastian's LEGO Club, to benefit children in the cancer unit at Oishei Children's Hospital.
Sebastian Bradley, a Buffalo native, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2016 at age 7. During his long battle with cancer, he took a Lego set everywhere he went. He began Sebastian's LEGO Club at Oishei in January this year.
Sebastian was the first donor and he personally delivered the first 300 sets of Legos to patients at the hospital. Sebastian passed away on May 18, 2018, five days after his 10th birthday.
Emma is continuing her good friend's legacy by collecting Legos in his name this summer.
"I love doing charity work and helping other people. I thought this would be a nice thing to help others," she said.
Donations of new Lego sets can be left in the collection boxes at the Youngstown Free Library or in the main vestibule of St. Peter R.C. Church in Lewiston throughout the month of July.
