Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace has announced the annual "Pride in the Park" Independence Day celebration will take place from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 at Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Lockport Road.
"This is a great family event with plenty of food vendors, beer and cold beverages, four terrific bands and of course a fantastic fireworks display," said Wallace.
The day will feature popular local food vendors such as Viola's Subs, The Meeting Place, Romana's Pizza, Tim Hortons, Solidays, The Great Foodini, What's Cookin At, Mr. Winter's Snack Shack and Lloyd's Tacos. The event also includes a beer and wine tent manned by Niagara Active Hose volunteers and grilled summer treats and soft drinks sold by the Town of Niagara Lions Club.
"Our concert series and "Pride in the Park" event has become a great source of revenue for Niagara Active Hose, the Lions Club and local not-for-profits who sell 50/50 tickets during the events," said Wallace.
"We have also had a tremendous amount of support this year from our sponsors which tells us the hard work by our special event and recreation staff is paying off," said Wallace. "We are grateful to all of our sponsors and especially our three premium level sponsors Republic Services, Rich Entertainment Group and CRB Holdings Tim Hortons.
"The lineup of bands is also exceptional this year. Chicago Authority starts us off at 2 p.m., followed by a fantastic Paul McCartney tribute at 4 p.m., Keep the Faith does Bon Jovi at 6 p.m. and direct from England we have an unbelievable Killer Queen performance to end the night."
Park visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and no alcoholic drinks or pets are allowed except certified service dogs. Veterans Memorial Community Park is a smoke free zone.
The full music schedule is as follows:
2 p.m.- Chicago Authority
4 p.m.- McCartney Yesterday and Today
6 p.m.- Keep the Faith
8 p.m.- Killer Queen
