Dr. Mark Frascatore has been named dean of Niagara University's College of Business Administration, effective June 4.
A Tonawanda native, Frascatore most recently served for two years as the senior associate dean of the David D. Reh School of Business at Clarkson University, where he had worked as an economics faculty member since 1994. His tenure at Clarkson also included roles as director of undergraduate business programs; area coordinator, faculty of economics and financial studies; associate professor of economics; professor of economics; and associate dean of the School of Business.
Frascatore's leadership positions in Clarkson's School of Business made him responsible for several initiatives, including the development and management of curriculum; working with the New York State Education Department on program approvals; managing documentation for AACSB reaccreditation; advancing community, employer and alumni relations; managing and supervising global business study programs; and building student recruitment within the college. In addition, Frascatore regularly published and was recognized multiple times for outstanding teaching.
From January-June 2017, Frascatore completed a Fulbright Research Lectureship at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, Italy, and, from January 2003-April 2004, served as an adjunct research professor at Massey University in New Zealand.
"Dr. Frascatore's track record as a creative and engaged administrator with a focus on academic excellence, student success and faculty development makes him a very welcome addition to our campus community," said Dr. Timothy O. Ireland, provost and vice president of academic affairs at NU. "At the same time, his experience and expertise will help guide collaborative work amongst student and faculty, and create engaging service and program development opportunities that meet the needs of business school graduates - both today and in the future."
Frascatore earned a bachelor's degree in economics from SUNY Binghamton, and master's and doctoral degrees in economics from Virginia Tech. At Niagara, he succeeds Dr. Tenpao Lee, who returns to a faculty role after serving as interim dean.
Niagara University's College of Business Administration, accredited by AACSB International, offers undergraduate degree programs in accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing, with concentrations in specialized areas such as fraud examination, economic crime, supply chain management and food marketing. The college also offers an M.S. in finance and an MBA program with several concentrations.
