Niagara Power to face off against Genesee Rapids in first home game

Fri, Jun 1st 2018 03:15 pm
At 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2, the Niagara Power will face off against the Genesee Rapids at Sal Maglie Stadium in Hyde Park, Niagara Falls.
This will be the Niagara Power's first home game after a two-year hiatus. In October 2017, the Niagara Power was purchased by Niagara University.
Prior to their hiatus, the Niagara Power was involved in the New York Collegiate Baseball League from its founding in 2007 until 2015. The Power was also affiliated with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which made the team one of three religious-based teams in the league.
In their first four seasons, the Power missed the playoffs, however, they made the postseason in four out of their last five seasons. To date, their most successful season was in 2012 with 24-17 record. They lost in the NYCBL Championship Series to the Syracuse Junior Chiefs.
For their first season back, the Power will have 42 games between June 1 and July 22. Twenty-one of the games scheduled for the season are home games. If they make it into the top three teams for their division, they will qualify for the playoffs, which can extend the season to July 30.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.niagarapower.com. Ticket prices vary based on the person: $60 for adults, $25 for seniors (age 55-plus) and students (13-plus) and free admission for children 12 and under. There is also a family bundle for $100.
